Halloween 2010

We spent the day carving pumpkins, getting dressed up, taking pictures, and then going trick or treating. While taking pictures it started to rain and by the time we were ready to go it was pouring out. So we put rain jackets on the kids and got our umbrellas. We made it to the end of the street before a big gust of wind broke our umbrellas in half. So me and Emmy went home to pass out the candy. When Steve returned with the kids the sky was starting to clear up. Brooklyn still wasn't done, so I took her out for more trick or treating. It was a very wet halloween but the kids had so much fun and got tons of candy!
Brooklyn was Tinkerbell
Brandon was Batman and Scooter was Super Dog
Jason was a Monkey
Emmy was a Cow Our Pumpkins

Ready to go Trick or Treating! After the umbrellas broke Steven came back for a garbage bag

Sedated Echo

We woke up dark and early this morning to drive up to Primary Children's Hospital for Emmy's sedated echo. Today the children at the hospital were celebrating halloween, so everyone was wearing costumes and trick or treating. Emmy was so tired and hungry (she is not used to getting up at 5:30). The nurses had a hard time getting her IV in and finally called the IV team. It was so sad. Emmy was crying so hard that hardly any sound came out. It took everything I had to not cry. They let me hold her while she fell asleep. I got to be with her the whole time and when they were done they let me hold her while she woke up. We then went up to recovery and she was able to finally eat. Once she recovered, we went back down to cardiology to get the results. They doctor said she has something called patent ductus arteriosus. Here is a link that explains what it is https://health.google.com/health/ref/Patent+ductus+arteriosus . We will keep an eye on it and they think when she is about 3 years old they will fix it.

Emmy with some nursesHeaded up to recovery (the nurses gave her this cute blanket to take home)

Primary Childrens

At Emmy's 6 month appt. her doctor heard a heart murmur, he said it sounded like she might have a hole in her heart. So today we went up to Primary Children's Hospital to meet with a cardiologist. After he listened to her heart for a while he came to the same conclusion. So now she has to have a sedated echo done to see what is going on.
Hopefully we'll get some answers soon.
